I use salvaged stained glass
and tile on all small artwork. Each piece is hand-cut and shaped.
The mosaic develops through many stages, including surface preparation,
adhering, grouting, and sealing.

I create custom
art panels that hang on the wall, permanent installations to accent
and enhance the surroundings, and glass mosaic adhered to windows
or glass panels that will project light and color when illuminated.
|
| I
am extremely concerned about environmental sustainability, so I
salvage materials whenever possible. Stained glass is collected
from glass artists, tile is salvaged from tilesetters and flooring
outlets, and bases (what I adhere the design to) are usually things
that would otherwise have been discarded. Many of my pieces are
done on cupboard doors salvaged from a mobile home demolition and
scraps of siding, hardiboard, and good plywood discarded by builders. |

This piece is done on scrap hardiboard using salvaged stained glass.
